Based on the information given in Apple’s AirPlay page, users can stream 4K HDR video. Plus, they can connect photos from iCloud, connect music to their television and also, control homekit accessories. When your device is connected to the TV, it will act as a remote in order to navigate through the TV screen. For iPhone, convenient built-in controls appear in apps, on the Lock screen, and in Control Center. One can easily play, pause, fast-forward, rewind, and adjust the volume on their TV.
The technology will prompt AirPlay TVs to act like AirPlay speakers, too. HomeKit will let users play certain movies via Siri integration. It cannot be ascertained as to when this would be available to other TV manufacturers but, AirPlay 2 is confirmed to come to Samsung TVs. Very recently, Apple has announced that it would enable iTunes to be authorised for Samsung TVs within 2018 and 2019 range. This is the first time Apple has allowed a third party app from Windows PC to access its video and audio library. iTunes for Samsung TVs has been established in 100 countries. The AirPlay 2 support will allow streaming of a range of content which includes videos, music, photos, and podcasts. Also, the iTunes streaming service is supposed to include Netflix as well.
